Overview:
I'm building a site based on the no longer publicly used military term 'collateral assets' in regards to specific populations (in this case, the globe). This site will consist primarily of a 9 or 12 concurrently running 'slide-shows' of individuals, families or social groups which are either holding or have attached to their clothing the words 'collateral assets.' Also on this site will be the ability for for viewers to download their image for use on the site, thus creating an ever-growing silent forum. (Originally I was going to silkscreen t-shirts and run around asking people to put them on so I could take their pictures...very 60s eh?) Visually simple in design, the impact of the site will be derived from the number and cultural variety of people whose photographs are delivered to the viewer.
If you do not or cannot get images at this time of you or your group that include these words, I can start by overlaying the text on an image you already have, although I think the strength of these images will greatly emanate from the individual act. If you'd like to be a part of this but cannot procure a digital image to email back to me, mail me a print, I'll digitize. If you'd like to do it, but don't have an image you want to use....go to a photo booth.
