Lançamento do Fórum Social Mundial 2005 No próximo dia 14 de junho de 2004, acontece no auditório do Sindicato dos Engenheiros, em São Paulo, o lançamento da quinta edição do Fórum Social Mundial (FSM), que será realizado em Porto Alegre, de 26 a 31 de janeiro de 2005. A atividade será marcada pelo debate %u201CPorto Alegre 2005: novos desafios no processo FSM frente à dominação e à militarização neoliberal%u201D, que contará com a participação de José Bové, integrante da Via Campesina e ativista na luta contra a liberação dos transgênicos; Moema Miranda, coordenadora do Ibase; Miriam Nobre, integrante da Marcha Mundial das Mulheres; Teivo Teivainen, membro da NIGD (Network Institute for Global Democracy), e Osvaldo León, membro do Comitê Organizador do Fórum Social Américas. Estarão presentes também outros membros da Secretaria do FSM, do Comitê Organizador Brasileiro, do Conselho Brasileiro e do Conselho Internacional do FSM.
